MATE Research Group

Mathematics Applied to TElecommunications

grupoMATE

The MATE group was created in 2005, at the Engineering School of ORT University, Uruguay. Its objective is the mathematical analysis of Telecommunication networks, aimed at evaluation of performance, and the improvement of its mechanisms for resource allocation and control.

Group activities cover various areas of interest in current telecommunications, both high-end wired and wireless networks: congestion, routing and access control for the Internet; cross-layer and contention control in wireless networks; pricing in multi-service networks.

For this purpose, different fields of applied mathematics are relevant: control theory, queueing theory, convex optimization, mathematical economics and game theory.
